Platform Engineering Department Overview:

Our in house engineering platform at bonial empowers engineers to build world-class products efficiently and reliably. It supports the entire development lifecycle, from idea generation to production deployment, enabling our teams to focus on delivering customer value. By continuously improving tooling, infrastructure, and processes, we aim to streamline development and operational workflows, ensuring teams can innovate quickly and securely


The mission of Platform Engineering is "Giving engineers the easiest to use, most productive and most reliable platform to build and run solutions” - which in turn enables our engineers to focus more on the Bonial products and spend less time reinventing the wheels and solving standard problems



Short Position / Team Introduction:


As a Technical Program Manager for the Engineering Platform, you will be at the center of driving the

strategic direction

and

development

of our engineering tools,

infrastructure automation

and
own the entire software delivery lifecycle

. You’ll work closely with all teams in Tech to ensure the platform meets the evolving needs of our growing organization. Your role will be critical in shaping the future of our technical ecosystem, enhancing developer productivity, and ensuring our platform scales with the business.

Your Responsibilities

Platform Strategy

: Develop a

long-term strategy for platform scalability, reliability, and innovation

, ensuring our engineering teams have the tools they need to succeed.

Stakeholder Management

: Engage with engineering, and leadership teams to gather feedback, align on goals, and manage expectations

Product Ownership
: Own the roadmap for the engineering platform,

defining priorities

based on business needs and technical requirements

Product Management

: Oversee

the end-to-end lifecycle of platform initiatives

, from ideation and design to implementation and rollout

Collaboration
& Communication: Foster close relationships with internal teams to ensure the platform meets their needs and facilitates effective cross-team communication


- Continuous Improvement: Ensure the platform evolves by implementing

improvements

based on feedback and emerging technologies

Measuring the success of platform initiatives

by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and iterating based on feedback

Your Profile


- Strong technical background and understanding of

software development lifecycles

,

CI/CD

, and

DevOps practices




- Proven experience in

defining and delivering technical products or platforms

.


- Strong background in product management, ideally in an

engineering platform

or developer tooling role

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with engineering teams and stakeholders. English is our primary language, German is nice to have

- A passion for problem-solving and a keen interest in emerging trends and technologies


- Experience with Agile methodologies and an iterative approach to product development


- A curious, growth-oriented mindset, always looking to innovate and improve


- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure

Nice to Have:


- Previous experience as a Product Owner for an engineering platform
