In May 2023, the name was changed to Kleinanzeigen.

What You’ll Do & Who You Are

Kleinanzeigen is pursuing an ambitious growth strategy under its Private Equity ownership. At the same time, the company is undergoing a major transformation to equip itself with the organizational and technical foundations required to scale significantly over the next few years.

The Chief of Staff (d/f/m) plays a pivotal role in enabling this transformation.

This role reports directly to the CEO and works in close partnership with the broader executive team. A key element of this role is to ensure the organization is always prepared to provide clear, up-to-date insights on strategic execution and crafts compelling narratives for audiences ranging from employees to investors and board members. Additionally, the Chief of Staff acts as a strategic integrator, proactively resolving issues and aligning priorities before they escalate to the executive level.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Work in close collaboration with the Executive Team to coordinate strategic priorities, drive execution, and refine operational initiatives as needed.
  • Act as a key point of alignment and escalation for the CEO and CFO, working closely with teams across the company (Business Teams, Marketing, Product & Technology, Sales, Analytics, Customer Support, etc.).
  • Partner with operational teams to drive execution, ensuring alignment, momentum, and early resolution of blockers.
  • Track progress against the strategy and report back to the Executive Team.
  • Synthesize insights from reports and dashboards into high-quality materials to support stakeholder engagement across the organization.
  • Lead executive-level briefings, board presentations, and investor updates which provide clear and compelling narratives around strategic progress and outcomes.
  • Support and/or lead strategic projects across functions to further develop the strategy or implementation and act as an interface to any external consultants who may be brought in as needed.
  • Evaluate emerging trends, market opportunities, and competitive threats, incorporating insights into strategic decision-making.

Who You Are

  • 5+ years in consulting and operational roles, ideally in e-commerce or an online marketplace environment.
  • Deep understanding of value creation levers in a Private Equity-backed environment, including performance improvement, M&A and transformation initiatives.
  • Solid financial acumen to ensure strategic initiatives are tightly aligned with value creation goals.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Proven ability to move ideas from concept to execution and iterative improvement (e.g., OKRs, agile delivery).
  • High degree of adaptability, resilience, and a proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment, even without direct reporting lines
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and build trust at the executive level, including experience presenting to and influencing executives, board members and investors.
