VP of Engineering

responsibilities:

• 
  Define and implement the technology roadmap in alignment with business objectives
  
• 
  Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering department
  
• 
  Foster a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture focused on innovation, excellence, and accountability
  
• 
  Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions
  
• 
  Establish best practices in coding, architecture, and system design to effectively scale the team for future growth
  
• 
  Work closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, and Success teams to align engineering efforts with customer needs
  
• 
  Serve as the key technology expert to senior leadership
  
• 
  Drive innovation to maintain a competitive edge in accounting and VAT compliance by staying updated on the latest technologies and regulatory trends

skills, experience, and traits:

• 
  Proven track record in scaling and leading high-performing engineering teams, ideally in a SaaS or FinTech environment as Director, VP, or CTO
  
• 
  Demonstrated success in architecting, scaling, and integrating exceptional engineering organisations, preferably in regulated industries or compliance-focused solutions
  
• 
  Comprehensive experience overseeing the entire software development lifecycle of SaaS products
  
• 
  Deep understanding of contemporary software engineering practices, architectural norms, and team dynamics, driving cloud-first strategies
  
• 
  Proficiency in data-driven decision-making for technology roadmaps
  
• 
  Exceptional leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams
  
• 
  Extensive experience working cross-functionally across different business functions
  
• 
  Clear verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  
• 
  Excellent English language skills; German proficiency is a significant advantage
