Beats & Bytes (B3S) is our tech organization and is comprised of a network of product teams. The B3S Team forms the digital foundation for our business and actively contributes to the competitive advantage of Universal Music.

The ALPHA team is one of Beats & Bytes' product teams. ALPHA is a digital asset management system and information hub. It’s Universal Music’s central collaboration platform for marketing music projects. We continuously develop the tool in co-creation with our users. Our vision is to provide the best collaboration experience for UMG releases and make our colleagues’ work lives easier, so they can focus on what they do best (watch the video to learn more about our vision). Since the product is already very successful in Europe, we are currently rolling it out for UMG globally.

Here’s your chance to join! Effective as of now, we’re looking for a working student (all genders) Digital Product Management to join us within our Beats and Bytes department at our Headquarters in Berlin.

This is what you can learn here:

  • You can grow into the field of digital product management while exploring responsibilities of product marketing, product operations and support
  • You can get insights into stakeholder management in connection to the music business
  • You learn about user-centric product management
  • As part of a central department, you get insights into different parts of the music business and learn about how record labels work
  • You will become the product expert for ALPHA, you will learn deeply about its capabilities and become the go-to-person for innovative solutions to ensure both user and product success

Your gig:

  • You are working closely with the product managers of the internal UMG product called ALPHA in the business enablement division
  • You work within a cross-functional setting, including change managers, engineers, product trio and research in remote locations
  • You have direct exposure to our users, e.g. gathering their needs, giving trainings on how to use ALPHA, helping them to achieve their goals through ALPHA support
  • You actively contribute to the development of our product processes and user-centric mindset within the whole company
  • You help define our agile processes and organize ceremonies like Retrospectives, Epic reviews and other ad-hoc meetings
  • You prepare user educational material, workshops, presentations, vlogs, infographics and data flow charts
  • You are a guardian for product quality, including regular QA of new developments and bug reporting
  • You take the lead in defining the communication channels with our users and announce new releases in a user-friendly way
  • You contribute to the development of our Beats & Bytes community

  • You study business, product management, marketing or another relevant field of study
  • You love engaging with users and teammates in different locations
  • You have experience working with different user-centric product teams
  • You have passion for digital technology and user-centered design
  • You have great communication skills and are quick to solve problems innovatively
  • It’s easy for you to display information graphically in an easily accessible way
  • You are reliable and through your structured and organized way of working you can stay on top of stressful situations
  • Your communication and team skills are very good and you like working in an interdisciplinary and international team
  • English and German skills are mandatory in reading, writing and speaking
