What the job involves
- Overall Financial Management: Taking responsibility for the comprehensive financial management, overseeing key areas such as controlling, accounting, investor relations, strategic finance, and legal
- Ensuring reliable and timely financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, including forecasts, financial statements (HGB, ideally IFRS), and cash flow management. Developing tools and processes for efficient and automated financial operations
- Developing and implementing a robust and scalable financial strategy, including liquidity planning, budget control, and KPI management
- Using data-driven insights to steer the company’s financial performance, focusing on growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability
- Taking responsibility for equity and debt financing (VC, PE, banks, subsidies) in collaboration with the management team, including financial modelling, business case ownership, and investor relations
- Crafting and presenting a compelling equity story, particularly during fundraising campaigns, and building strong, transparent, and strategic relationships with investors
- Setting-up scalable financial standards for a potential IPO route
- Managing corporate legal matters, including contracts, legal structure, regulatory requirements, and coordination with external law firms
- Leading the cross-functional finance team, taking responsibility for strategic team development and efficient management of external partners - fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team
- Acting as a strategic partner to the executive team and business units, helping shape the company’s overall strategy, roadmap, and operational excellence
- Taking responsibility for risk management, implementing robust internal control systems, and providing strategic advice to ensure the company’s continued success
- University degree in Finance, Business Administration, or relevant field with excellent grades
- Taking on several years of experience in a senior finance role such as CFO, VP Finance, or Director of Finance, ideally in a growth-oriented, investor-backed environment
- Proven track record in managing major financial transactions, including large funding rounds, mergers and acquisitions, and significant bank loans, preferably in a private equity environment
- Taking responsibility for deep knowledge in controlling, accounting, budgeting, cash flow management, and investor relations
- Experience in project business is a requirement
- Taking responsibility for building scalable financial structures and implementing digital tools to automate finance processes
- Demonstrating confidence in dealing with investors, banks, auditors, and internal stakeholders, with a proven ability to lead teams and foster a culture of trust, clarity, and collective growth
- Taking responsibility for a strong strategic mindset combined with excellent analytical skills and the ability to take a hands-on approach when needed
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English
