What You’ll Do & Who You Are

You will join the Smart Advertising team, a cross-functional team based in our lovely new Berlin office, developing exciting products to make advertising smarter on Kleinanzeigen and improve the experience for the end user.

What You’ll Do

• Be part of a friendly, multicultural team, working in an Agile environment
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices and coding standards
• Work with the team to constantly evolve our ways of working
• Be an active part of our Engineering community to ensure continuous improvement across the company
• Build TypeScript/JavaScript-based technology for online classifieds in a clean, scalable way
• Optimize application performance and scalability through efficient code and architecture design
• Write concise technical documentation for code, APIs, and system architecture
• Ensure code quality and maintainability using software engineering best practices
• Take ownership of the full development lifecycle, from architecture to QA and deployment
• Collaborate closely with UX Designers using tools like Figma to ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience
  
  

Who You Are

• You are a strong believer in teamwork and collaboration
• Proficient in modern frontend technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JSX, and TypeScript/JavaScript (ECMAScript)
• You have experience working with React or Next.js – and ideally also some familiarity with Astro
• You have experience with modern testing frameworks like Jest, Vitest, and Playwright
• Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Strong focus on delivering top-notch user experience
• Comfortable working in Agile environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with the Node.js ecosystem and API integration (REST/GraphQL)
• Experience building RESTful APIs (e.g., NodeJS, Express, Fastify, NextJS)
• Experience deploying code in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Experience with CI/CD tools, Git, npm, and GitHub Actions
• (Optional) Exposure to relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
