We - Wikimedia Deutschland e. V. - support the volunteers of Wikipedia and its sister projects, develop free software, such as Wikidata, and advocate for free access to knowledge, the opening of education and research, and more common good orientation in data policy


For our Software Engineering Team, based in Berlin, we are looking for an

Interim Technical Product Manager, Fundraising Technology (all genders)

, full- or part-time (24 - 40 hours / week), ideally

starting 01.08.2026

for a

limited contract until 31.01.2027





This position is designed as a hybrid working model with quarterly presence in our

Berlin

office


About the position & the team:


The Fundraising Technology (FUNtech) team develops and improves the software of Wikimedia Deutschland’s fundraising operations. This includes developing and maintaining the existing Fundraising app and infrastructure, as well as supporting the annual fundraising campaign.


Our Fundraising efforts fuel our continued work for the Wikipedia community, our large-scale software projects such as Wikidata and Wikibase, and our efforts to help secure access to free knowledge around the globe, to name but a few examples.


You will be the Technical Product Manager (all genders) for this team, collaborating closely with a team of engineers and across key stakeholders. You will also be a part of the Product Management team, and report to the Head of Product Operations


What you’ll be doing:

  • You are responsible for roadmap ownership, delivery coordination, and cross-functional collaboration based on requirements from multiple stakeholder teams

  • You will be the interface between our Fundraising Technology team, the Donations and Members Data team and our non-technical Campaigns and Fundraising team and can translate their needs into work packages and clear action items for the engineering team.

  • You will drive projects forward by using agile project management methodologies

  • You will occasionally be coordinating with external service providers

What makes you right for this role:

  • Strong experience as a Technical Product Manager in software-driven environments.

  • Hands-on experience in using Agile / Kanban methodologies.

  • Well-established interpersonal and external communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience with fundraising, CRM, or e-marketing technology, including payment systems, donor/customer databases, analytics, and legacy software maintenance, ideally in mission-driven or non-profit organisational contexts

  • Ability to operate autonomously in an interim setup, taking rapid ownership of existing products and processes, making pragmatic decisions, and integrating quickly into established teams

  • Experience working in distributed hybrid/remote environments

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English and German
