Regional Operations Manager - Bakery Retail #2812 - #2634948
Haldren
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a motivated Area Manager to launch and lead an exciting new pilot venture built around two pastry retail stores located in Berlin shopping centres. The position carries a distinctive dual focus, with half the role dedicated to strategic management and the other half spent working directly in store. It will appeal to an enterprising individual who genuinely enjoys shaping something new from the very first day.
Acting as the face of the business locally, you will stay in close contact with the company's headquarters in Italy. Rather than a desk-bound management post, this is a role where you stand alongside your team at the counter, ensuring customers receive a first-class experience while you take charge of every operational detail behind the scenes.
Whoever steps into this role will be central to demonstrating that the concept works, paving the way for further growth across Berlin, the wider German market, and beyond. It is a rare chance to come on board at the launch of an ambitious expansion plan and to make your mark while helping to shape what could become a leading European retail franchise.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control: Monitor service standards and manage customer feedback
- Financial Oversight: Control operational costs and budget management
- Retail Operations: Work directly on sales floor serving customers (around 50% of time)
- Growth Planning: Develop strategies for future Berlin-area expansion
- Logistics Management: Coordinate product supply
- Team Leadership: Recruit, hire, train, and schedule sales staff
- Reporting: Prepare performance reports for Italian headquarters
Preferred:
- Background in food retail or hospitality sector
- Italian language skills
- Previous experience in startup or expansion environments
- Experience in franchise or multi-location retail operations
