About Cellbricks Therapeutics

At Cellbricks Therapeutics, we work towards a future where humans can enjoy longer and healthier lives. Every 30 seconds, a patient dies from a disease caused by tissue dysfunction. Our vision is to change that by producing bioengineered, implantable human tissue that restores organ and tissue function for millions of patients.

Our mission is backed by visionary investors, including ACT Ventures Partners, Silicon RoundAbout Ventures and SPRIND – Federal Agency for Breakthrough Innovation, as well as key individual investors.

Cellbricks Therapeutics is a Berlin- and Boston-based biotech company developing bioengineered tissue therapeutics. We combine bioprinting, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine to build functional human tissue at scale.

We are an interdisciplinary team of biotechnologists, engineers, chemists and entrepreneurs from more than 14 nations, united by a proactive, hands-on approach to solving hard scientific problems. Our team is currently advancing multiple therapeutic programmes focused on the restoration of complex wounds and organ failure towards pre-IND and IND milestones, in collaboration with leading clinical, pharmaceutical and manufacturing partners.

About The Role

We are looking for a Histology & Imaging Specialist to join our Tissue Engineering team and support the execution of immunostaining and image analysis across our research programmes.

This role sits at the centre of our histology workflow – from staining and microscopy to quantified data. You will also help us document our histology pipeline, building a process that is clean, reproducible and ready to be transferred as parts of our programmes are transferred to the US.

What You Will Do

  • Prepare our bioprints, from tissue processing through paraffin sectioning.
  • Perform immunostaining on tissue samples.
  • Operate microscopy equipment for image acquisition.
  • Conduct image analysis and quantification to generate study-ready data.
  • Document staining protocols and the image-analysis workflow so that the process is transferable and reproducible.
  • Work closely with the team lead to keep pace with study timelines.

What You Bring

  • A master’s degree in cell biology, histology, biomedical sciences or a related field, or equivalent training in the histology processes specified above.
  • Hands-on experience with immunostaining or immunohistochemistry techniques.
  • Experience with microscopy and image-analysis software, such as ImageJ/Fiji, QuPath or similar.
  • Strong documentation habits and the ability to write clear, reproducible protocols.
  • The ability to work independently and manage a steady sample pipeline.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with preclinical histology samples.
  • Experience supporting regulatory-facing data packages, such as pre-IND or IND programmes.
  • Experience with in toto staining.
  • Experience with 3D sample imaging.

Why Join Cellbricks Therapeutics?

  • Take ownership of a critical part of our therapeutic pipeline, with your work feeding directly into pre-IND data and our path towards the clinic.
  • Help shape how our histology process is documented and run going forward.
  • Have a real impact on the future of medicine through the development of bioengineered tissue therapeutics.
  • Work with a fantastic, international and interdisciplinary team.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits, including Urban Sports, the Deutschlandticket and a €50 voucher.
  • 30 days of annual leave.
  • Regular team events.

Where You Will Work

This role is based in Berlin, Germany, within our Tissue Engineering team.
