Your Role And Responsibilities

• As a Training Manager for Metal Professions, you will play a key role at our training center in Berlin. The ABB Training Center is a leading provider of vocational education and training for ABB and our partner companies, offering state-of-the-art facilities and innovative training concepts. Together with your team, you will train the next generation of skilled professionals and make a significant contribution to the economic success of our customers.
  
  

Your main responsibilities include:

• Providing technical, disciplinary, and pedagogical leadership for the Metal Workshop training department
• Developing deployment and training schedules for instructors and apprentices in metalworking programs
• Implementing and continuously enhancing the ABB Training Center's training modules in alignment with the training framework for industrial metal occupations
• Ensuring training quality through regular evaluations and agile adjustments
• Monitoring and analyzing market trends and developments in industrial metal profession curricula and adapting training content accordingly
• Advancing a holistic training approach by incorporating new educational developments and pedagogical methodologies
• Driving digital transformation in vocational training, from innovative learning methods to process optimization and the implementation of modern tools and software
• Leading, developing, and empowering a training team while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability
• Supporting the continuous professional development of employees within the department
• Planning and managing the budget required for equipment, materials, and training and development initiatives
• Maintaining customer relationships and promoting the value of high-quality cooperative vocational training to existing and prospective customers
• Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders of the training center (other training departments, Chambers of Industry and Commerce, vocational schools, and customers), and participating in chamber and Berlin state committees focused on advancing dual vocational education
• Acting as a key driver in strengthening collaboration between our training centers in Berlin and Heidelberg and establishing a shared culture of cooperation that connects and empowers employees across all locations
  
  
  

Qualifications For The Role

• We are looking for an experienced and committed professional with:
• A technician or master craftsperson qualification, a completed university degree, or a comparable advanced technical qualification in a metalworking profession
• Trainer Aptitude Certification (AdA certificate) or an equivalent qualification
• At least 5 years of practical experience in vocational training, talent development, or a similar function, or several years of leadership experience
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• A solid understanding of holistic competency development
• Openness to new technologies and innovative educational approaches
• A passion for vocational education and the development of future skilled professionals
• Fluent German language skills; basic English skills are desirable
