A Snapshot of Your Day

This position is newly created, and that is the whole point of it. Transformation of Industry does not yet have a dedicated Function Controlling — you are the person who builds it, for a functional cost base estimated at more than €600 million. You define the operating model, the cost center and manpower steering logic, the reporting cadence and the standards that the functions will be steered by, and you build the team that runs them.

You are not starting from an empty page. A part of the team will transfer into the new unit, so you begin with experienced colleagues who know the business, the processes and you grow the team around them. Siemens Energy's corporate Function Controlling team supports you closely on top of that, so you can build on proven methods and standards rather than invent everything yourself.

The timing makes the task unusually rewarding. On 25 August 2026 Siemens Energy announced preparations for the legal and operational separation of Transformation of Industry into a standalone company, a fast-growing business with around 17,000 employees, €6 billion of revenue and a double-digit profit margin. A standalone company needs its own function cost transparency from day one — and few finance leaders get the chance to shape a controlling discipline that does not exist yet, with experienced colleagues behind them, for a company that is coming into existence around them.

Your second role is that of Finance Business Partner to the corporate functions — IT, HR, Communications, Legal & Compliance, Procurement and Finance among them. You are the financial counterpart their leaders turn to, and just as importantly you develop your own people into that role: a function controller who only reports numbers is not yet a business partner, and getting the team there is one of your central tasks.

You are joining the central Business Controlling team of Transformation of Industry at a moment when it is preparing to evolve towards a Corporate FP&A department for a future standalone company, potentially bringing together more than 100 finance professionals. The future setup is still being explored, and the people who join now can contribute to shaping it. In this position, you report directly to the Vice President of FP&A and work alongside your peers in the FP&A management team.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Build the Function Controlling discipline for Transformation of Industry from the ground up, including the operating model, scope, governance, interfaces, and organizational structures, with the support of Siemens Energy's corporate Function Controlling team
• Lead the financial performance management of functional cost centers across monthly closings, forecasts, and budgets
• Act as Finance Business Partner to IT, HR, Communications, Legal & Compliance, Procurement, and Finance by analyzing cost and manpower drivers and translating them into actionable business insights
• Establish standalone function cost transparency, including separation effects, the target cost base, and the steering logic replacing group allocations
• Design standardized and automated controlling processes and dashboards that provide real-time visibility into function costs and manpower utilization, leveraging AI where it adds value
  
  
  

What You Bring

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in Financial Controlling, FP&A, budgeting, and corporate finance within a complex international environment.
• Proven leadership in building, coaching, and developing finance teams, ideally including the setup or transformation of a finance function and the development of business partnering capabilities.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and support business decision-making.
• Excellent knowledge of SAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and process optimization, combined with a structured hands-on approach in ambiguous environments.
