Job Description

As Tech Product Owner – Platform AI, you shape the technological foundation for scalable AI at idealo. You develop the product strategy and roadmap for our central AI platform, prioritize the right capabilities and ensure reusable AI services deliver a great developer experience working at the intersection of AI, Platform Engineering, Cloud and Product Development.

About Your New Role

• You own the strategy and roadmap for our central AI platform, evolving it with engineering teams and key stakeholders.
• You drive scalable, reusable services and APIs covering foundation models, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, evaluation and agentic AI.
• You prioritize initiatives based on business value, user needs, feasibility and cost.
• You define and track KPIs (e.g. adoption, time-to-value, quality, availability, cost) and act on them.
• With Engineering, Security and other stakeholders, you ensure reliability, AI security, governance and data protection.
• You foster a Platform-as-a-Product, self-service mindset with strong developer experience and documentation.
  
  

Job Requirements

Skills & Requirements

• Experience as a Technical Product Owner/Lead in a platform, cloud or AI environment.
• Strong grasp of cloud, platform and software architecture, comfortable in technical discussions with engineers.
• Hands-on knowledge of AI/ML/GenAI patterns: LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, evaluation, agentic AI.
• Experience with cloud technologies (ideally AWS), APIs, Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into a clear strategy, roadmap, and priorities, backed by data.
• Strong ownership, analytical thinking and stakeholder communication, with an entrepreneurial balance of value, experience, and efficiency.
