Shine is the financial copilot for entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Founded by serial entrepreneurs Rico Andersen and Martin Hegelund, Shine is a leading European fintech unicorn on a mission to restore the joy of running a business, by ending wasted time on financial admin. Shine offers a connected solution for invoicing, accounting, payroll, business accounts, payments, and financing, meaning business owners can focus their energy on growing a healthy business, not held back by manual admin.

Part of something bigger

Today we're part of Cegid, a European leader in cloud software for finance and accounting. Together we're building Europe's leading financial copilot for small businesses and their accountants.

Shine already supports more than 400,000 small businesses. As part of Cegid, we now reach over one million small businesses and 15,000 accountants across Europe.

We're a multicultural team working from France, Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands, contributing to a wider European network that spans Spain, Portugal.

Your Hiring Experience Matters

Just as we respect our customers' time, we respect yours. Your experience with Shine and Cegid should feel simple, transparent and genuinely supportive.

If this sounds like somewhere you want to grow, we'd love to hear from you.

The Tax & Year-End area at Shine

The Tax & Year-End area is a brand-new area at Shine with a dual mission: building the pan-European tax & year-end engine, and building a winning product for tax advisors and CPAs in Germany. German accounting and tax is a highly specialized domain, and building the right product requires more than generic product expertise. We need someone who can understand the tax advisory profession in Germany and help us turn that expertise into a stellar product.

Your role as Senior Product Manager, Global Year-End

The Tax & Year-End area is built around two core teams: Global Year-End, which takes accountants from raw books to approved annual accounts, and Global Tax, which takes those approved figures all the way to a filed and accepted tax return.

As Senior Product Manager, Global Year-End, you own the first half of the engine: the closing process. You lead the product side in a cross-functional team of engineers, design and accounting domain experts building a multi-country year-end module, natively integrated with the common ledger underlying Shine and able to run on top of other accounting systems. Germany comes first, with France close behind and Spain next. You will work hand in hand with the Senior PM for Global Tax: your output is their input.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Own the Global Year-End strategy and roadmap — from closing preparation to signed annual accounts
  • Build the closing workflow — checklists, period locks, review and sign-off between advisor and client, all in one place.
  • Automate the standard adjustments — accruals and deferrals, provisions, inventory and year-end reconciliations, so advisors spend their time on judgement, not data entry.
  • Build one year-end engine, not three products — define what is shared (closing workflow, adjustment framework, statement model) and what is local (GAAP rules, charts of accounts such as SKR03/SKR04, taxonomies, filing formats).
  • Own the handoff to Global Tax — define the contract between approved accounts and tax returns so figures flow through without re-keying.
  • Serve two segments on one engine — a first priority comprehensive solution for tax advisors and CPAs, and a second priority simplified, guided closing for business owners in Shine Micro.
  • Make AI a core capability — anomaly detection in the books, suggested closing entries, automated year-end reconciliations and draft explanations that advisors can review and approve.
  • Run deep discovery with advisors — shadow Kanzleien during closing season, map where time is lost today, and turn that into a sharp, prioritised backlog.
  • Orchestrate across the ecosystem — partner closely with Global Tax, Core Accounting, Advisor, the common ledger teams and the local products in France, Germany and Spain.

What Success Looks Like

  • German tax advisors close their clients' year end-to-end in Shine, from raw books through to E-Bilanz submission.
  • Time to close per client drops measurably, with a growing share of adjustments suggested automatically and accepted.
  • Approved accounts flow straight into Global Tax with no manual re-entry.
  • The engine architecture is proven multi-country, with France live or in beta on the same foundation.
  • Micro customers can complete a simple year-end on their own with confidence.

Job located in Berlin, Germany with possibility of remote working days

About You

  • You are a seasoned product manager — 5+ years building complex B2B SaaS, ideally in accounting, ERP, tax or other regulated domains, with a track record of taking products from discovery to adoption.
  • You have good accounting fundamentals — you have a good understand of double-entry bookkeeping, charts of accounts, and how a ledger turns into financial statements.
  • You think in platforms — you can separate what is shared from what is local across countries and turn that into a scalable engine.
  • You are technically fluent — comfortable discussing data models, ledger integrations, taxonomies and APIs with engineers.
  • You are AI-fluent — you use AI in your own workflow and think critically about where AI should change how closing work gets done.
  • You care about precision — annual accounts must be correct, auditable and trusted, and you design for that.
  • You communicate clearly — with engineers on system design, with advisors on workflow needs, and with leadership on trade-offs.
  • You are fluent in English; German is a big plus.
