We are a young company, though this is our second venture. Before Prestatech, we founded and exited Prestacap, a lending platform for SMEs active in Italy and Germany.

We are passionate about data and technology, never satisfied with the status quo, and believe that teamwork is key to achieving any goal together.

To date, we have raised €8 million, which has allowed us to offer even more innovative solutions to our clients, expand operations in Italy, and enter new markets (UK, Germany, USA).

About Engineering Team

The team is focused on backend services and extracting data from various paper and PDF sources, such as bank statements, payslips, and fiscal tax documents. A range of approaches is applied, including rule-based extraction, OCR, and retrained classifiers and extractors.

Type hints are being extended across the products. Ruff is utilized as a linter and formatter. And mypy as an additional type checker. CI and CD are integrated into the workflow and supported by regression tests to ensure service quality. Applications are deployed regularly in serverless and Kubernetes ways within the Azure cloud. Additionally, one of the PDF text extraction libraries has been open-sourced: https://github.com/weareprestatech/hotpdf.

We have minimal organizational meetings like weekly planning and retro once per three weeks to focus more on development team interactions

Requirements:

About You

• Confident Python knowledge working base data primitives: strings, lists, and dictionaries
• Familiarity with developer environments Windows and/or Linux and Git
