A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Gas Turbine Blades & Vanes Engineer for Service (f/m/d), you provide technical expertise to improve the reliability, performance, and lifetime of gas turbine components. You support service operations and projects through condition-based lifetime assessments, damage analysis, and risk mitigation, working closely with engineering teams and customers to resolve complex technical challenges. By translating fleet experience into actionable engineering improvements, you contribute to continuous product development and operational excellence.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Advise service and operation support teams on condition-based lifetime predictions and engineering assessments during gas turbine inspections to improve fleet reliability
• Support projects through technical clarifications, root cause analyses, and direct customer communication on blade and vane-related issues, including on-site visits when required
• Develop condition-based risk assessments and mitigation strategies for blade and vane operation, considering material behavior, manufacturing processes, and heat transfer
• Provide technical guidance on blade and vane installation, component replacement, and requests for operation beyond established limits
• Perform damage analyses, including mechanical integrity assessments, oxidation behavior, and crack propagation in high-temperature superalloys, to support sound engineering decisions
• Drive fleet feedback to New Unit Engineering and product management by evaluating component performance against design expectations and identifying opportunities for improvement
  
  
  

What You Bring

• Experience in engineering or service engineering for rotating machinery, ideally involving components operating under high-temperature conditions.
• Solid knowledge of gas turbine operation and the design principles of turbine blades and vanes.
• Skills or experience in damage analysis, including mechanical integrity assessments, oxidation behavior, and crack propagation in high-temperature superalloys.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication with customers and cross-functional engineering teams, and flexibility to participate in a 24/7 engineering hotline on demand; willingness to travel approximately 20%.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken; German language skills are an advantage.
