Public Policy Manager, Germany, Austria, Switzerland (12 Months Contract ) - #2756619

We are looking for a public policy expert who can combine an interest in innovative technologies and services with knowledge of the political and regulatory environment, as well as experience in working with policy stakeholders in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Successful applicants will become part of a thriving team that is dealing with some of the most interesting public policy and regulatory issues of our time, including the regulation of AI, competition, platform regulation, the harmonization of EU regulation, and driving a policy agenda focused on innovation and economic growth.This role will be based in Berlin and is a 17-month leave cover, ideally starting by the end of January 2026 till the end of May 2027.

Public Policy Manager, Germany, Austria, Switzerland (12 Months Contract ) Responsibilities:

• Development and execution of policy strategies and policy narratives together with other teams to achieve company goals in public policy
• Help build coalitions with other organizations such as trade associations and companies to advance policy goals of Meta
• Represent Meta in meetings with government officials and elected members of parliament
• Monitor legislation affecting Meta in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and advise the company with respect to policy challenges
• Support Public Policy Team with organization of events and bilateral meetings as well as internal administrative tasks
  
  

Minimum Qualifications:

• A Master's degree in Political Science, Sociology, European Studies or related field
• Experience working on relevant policy and regulatory issues such as AI, hardware regulation, platform regulation, competition, innovation, and youth protection
• Experience in working with politicians and government officials as well as in assessing and explaining complex policy issues
• Move to DESCRIPTION or remove entirely. Consider rephrasing to: "Understanding of the social and economic impact of new technologies, such as AI."
• Full fluency in German and English language skills required
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams from a wide range of disciplines
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Having work experience in the German industry (e.g., telecoms, manufacturing, automotive, publishers)
• Experience in government or with government institutions
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
